Toby Joseph Globe

Toby Joseph Globe, 80, formerly of Brentwood, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at the Villas of Jackson, where he was a resident of three and a half years. Toby's death resulted from complications of Parkinson's Disease and Dementia.

Toby was born June 12, 1943, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Harry Glembocki and Sarah Rose Margolis Globe, and was raised in the Jewish faith.

Toby and Nancy Janice Silverblatt were married August 14, 1968, in Clayton, Missouri. One daughter, Deborah Stacy Globe, was born to their union. Toby and Nancy later divorced but remained friends.

Toby was a 1961 graduate of Edison High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He attended Northeastern State College in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, graduating July 29, 1966, with a bachelor of arts in education. He later obtained a Juris Doctorate degree from Oklahoma University School of Law in Norman, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Bar Associations in Oklahoma and Missouri.

Toby was a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, serving honorably from June 22, 1970, to June 1, 1974. He was a prosecutor and defense attorney for the Advocate General, and later served in the Army Reserve. Toby was an arbitrator, employed by the State of Missouri, Department of Labor, Division of Employment Security, retiring in 2011. He also did some census work in the St. Louis area.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Deborah (Clifford) Bangert of Jackson; and two granddaughters, Courtney Lynne Bangert and Stacie Gabrielle Bangert of Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he preceded in death by his twin brother, Martin Globe (September 2009).

Visitation will be held Friday, July 21, 2023, from 10 - 11 AM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center. The Rev. Gary Hoffstetter will conduct the funeral at 11 AM, Friday, at the funeral home followed by military honors. Interment is private at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

After military honors, friends are invited to the family home for lunch (Shiva) from 12:30 to 7 p.m.
