Truman Udel Horn, 91, of Jackson passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 19, 1929 in Cave City, Arkansas to Alson and Mae Francis Perkey Horn. He and Dorothy Maintz married July 12, 1968 in St. Louis, Missouri. Truman entered the United States Army January 29, 1951 serving in the Korean War; earning a Korean Service Medal with a bronze service star. He was honorably discharged October 28, 1952. Truman worked many years for General Motors; in 1984 he retired from the Corvette Plant in Bowling Green, Kentucky. After retirement he helped his wife run her ceramic shop business. Truman had a special love for corvettes, classic cars, traveling, RVing, and blue grass festivals. He also enjoyed trips to Mexico and being outside. Truman would make his grandkids laugh and make them smile at his silliness. He always enjoyed Chevy Chase movies. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; four children, Kevin (Mary) Horn of Little Rock, Arkansas, Karl “Bo” Horn of Steedman, Missouri, Vickie Ford and Teresa Warner both of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Daniel Young, Robert Ford, Ashley Youngerman, Thomas Horn, Shania (Forest) Kincaid, Jaesa Warner, Austin (Mindy) Ford, Alyssa Gregory and Elizabeth Ford; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kenneth Horn and three siblings, Ella Jean Browning, Treva Mae Horn, and Billy Joe Horn; and a niece, Sue Hilborn. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, Thursday, January 28, 2021 at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral Service will be at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Randall Perkey officiating. Burial will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield with full military honors. Due to current health conditions of COVID-19 those attending are asked to where masks and maintain social distancing guidelines. Memorial contributions may be given in his memory to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
