Vergie Louise (Sebastian) Drum

Vergie Louise Drum, 95, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at the Monticello House. Vergie was born April 13, 1927, in Jackson, daughter of the late Louis and Cora (Burgfeld) Sebastian. She and Marvin "Ted" Drum were married February 17, 1946, in Oswego, KS. There union blessed them with a daughter, Diana (Jeffrey) Gibson of Murietta, CA. Ted passed away October 29, 2017. Vergie was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson. She and Ted both worked for the International Shoe Company. In addition to her loving daughter, Vergie is survived by a granddaughter, Chrystal (Stuart) Welch; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Gibson, Cayman Welch, Amaryllis and Terrence Williams; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson, Craig Gibson; and two siblings, Mildred Adams and Vern Sebastian. Visitation will be Saturday, March 4, 2023 from 11:30 until service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Hospice or Emmanuel United Church of Christ.
