Victoria Sue (Boren) Boren

Victoria Sue "Vicki" Boren, age 74, passed away May 31, 2024, at her home in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Vicki was born in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Leo and Virginia Kain Boren.

Vicki grew up in Cape Girardeau. She graduated from Central High School then Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Music Education. While at SEMO, she was a member of Delta Delta Delta and Sigma Alpha Iota.

She worked in the Webster Groves School District until she took early retirement to move back home to assist with her parents. Vicki became very involved with the SEMO Alumni Association and served as the President for a period. She was very involved with Trinity Lutheran Church including choir, Trebellaires, and bells.

Vicki was a member of the quartet Faith in Harmony where she sang throughout the community with her dear friends. She was a member of the American Choral Directors Association, Missouri Music Educators Association, and a member of Chapter BI of the International P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She deeply loved to travel and did so extensively. Vicki had a profound love of God, family and music. She was “Grandmudder” to her great nieces and nephews, and she never met a stranger.

Vicki is survived by a niece Victoria "Tori" (Ryan) Gibson of Cape Girardeau, three nephews, Daniel (Jennifer) Boren of Cape, Lance (Katie) Boren of St. Louis, and Bryan (Chanel) Boren of Las Vegas; a sister-in-law Cathy Boren of Cape; and many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by two brothers Doug and Lee Boren.

The visitation will be Wednesday, June 5th  from 4 - 7 pm at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral services will be held Thursday June 6th  10 am at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau with the Rev Douglas Breite officiating with burial at Hanover Lutheran Cemetery.

The family requests that any monetary donations be made in Vicki’s name to the Alzheimer's Association or to Southeast Missouri State University.
