Wilbur “Keith” Seabaugh, age 90, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born February 19, 1930, in Patton, Missouri, son of Wilberd Schell and Minnie Viola Devenport Seabaugh. He and Shirley Ann Newman were married August 19, 1951 in San Diego, California.
Keith was a 1947 graduate of Jackson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy Seabees from 1951 to 1954, and was stationed in the Philippines. After his honorable discharge, he worked for Standard Oil Company from 1954 to 1964 in California. Keith and his family moved to Missouri in 1964, and in 1968 he began working for ABF Freight System, retiring in 1991.
Keith was an active member of the American Legion Post 158 in Jackson and was a former zone 4 vice commander. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Jackson since 1964.
Loving survivors include his wife of 68 years, Shirley Newman Seabaugh of Jackson; three children, David Keith (Trish) Seabaugh of St. Louis, Darrell Wayne (Barbara) Seabaugh of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and Cary Ross (Dawn) Seabaugh of Placerville, California; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sonja Petras of Montclair, California, Brenda Strauch of Tehachapi, California, and Sharon Thompson of Prescott, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
Private visitation, funeral, and military honors will be held at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, with select family members and friends. Private interment will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to First Baptist Church in Jackson Mission Fund or American Legion Post 158 Scholarship Fund.
