William 'Albert' Brown, 83, of New Wells passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 27,1940, in Ste. Genevieve, son of Otis and Beulah Gastineau Brown Sr. He and Dorothy Lorenz were married August 15, 1959. She preceded him in death on February 05,1996. He and Marie Rogers were married on April 22,2000. Albert worked for Lone Star Cement for several years, he then worked as a welder at Proctor and Gamble for 28 years retiring in 1996. He lived on the family farm most of his life where he enjoyed raising cattle and hunting. He loved being outside, especially on his tractor bailing hay. Albert was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved his grandchildren. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells and more recently had been attending Cape County Cowboy Church. Loving survivors include his wife, Marie Brown of New Wells; son, Richard (Kellie) Brown of New Wells; step-son, Will Rogers of Cape Girardeau; step-daughter Jamie (Luke Basler) Steger of New Wells; grandchildren, Brittany (Brandon) Simpher, Harley Ledbetter, Oren Basler, Arlie Basler and Konnor Basler; great-grandchildren, Shiloh and Rhys Simpher; three brothers Elmer (the late Shirley) Brown of Scott City, Charles (June) Brown of Jackson, Guy (Sandy) Brown of Gordonville and brother in law, Jim (the late Susie) James. He was preceded in death by his first wife Dororthy; son, David Brown; brother, Lee Roy (Wilma) Brown; sister, Susie James; and an infant sibling. The visitation will be from 1pm until time of service on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Memorial service will be at 3 pm on Tuesday, June 11 at funeral home, with the dear friend Leonard Fiedler conducting the memorial service. The family suggests that contributions be made to St. Jude's Children's Research hospital, American Cancer Society or Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund.
