William “Bill” Flannery

August 6, 1934 — July 5, 2015

William "Bill" Henry Flannery, 80, of Jackson, MO, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015, at

St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born August 6, 1934, in Crump, MO, son of William Ira and Vercie Mae Riehn Flannery. He and Glenda "Lois" Seiler were married June 29, 1963 at the Whitewater Methodist Church spending the last 52 years together.

Bill was a 1952 graduate of Delta High School. He worked on the River Barge as an oiler, worked at the former Lowenbaun Garment Factory in Cape Girardeau for 8 years and at

P & G from 1971-1997 as an operator in the diaper department.

Bill served in the US Army from April 1957 - 1959 receiving the Good Conduct Medal and an honorable discharge.

Bill was a member of the Excelsior Lodge 441 AFAM in Jackson for 38 years and was an Excelsior Chapter Order of DeMolay Chapter Dad. Bill was a past president of the former Jackson Jaycees.

Loving survivors include his wife Lois of Jackson, a son, Allen (Karen) Flannery of Festus, MO, two daughters; Laura (Brian) Keller and Angela (Sam) Davis both of Jackson, six grandchildren; Terry, Lexi, Thomas, and Trevor Flannery, and Kaitlyn and Jesse Keller; one brother, Bob (Loyce) Flannery of Jackson.

Friends may call Tuesday, July 7, 2015, from 4 -8 pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO. There will be a Masonic Service held at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, July 8, 2015, at 10:30 a.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with military honors.
