William Gordon Scott

William Gordon “Scotty” Scott, age 61, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at his home in Cape Girardeau, MO.

On July 2, 1965, in Cape Girardeau, MO he was born to the late Artie and Betty Jane Plumb Scott.

Scotty was a sweet and kind soul. He was a devoted son and brother to his family, but most of all a good Christian man.

He worked for the Cape La Croix Apartments for 35 years before retiring. He was noted for being a loyal, hardworking, dependable and giving employee.

Survivors include Della (Von) McAlister, Jeannie (Jack) Kitchen, Tom (Martha) Hamilton, Mike (Debbie) Hamilton, Robin (Robin) Minner, John (Tammy) Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.

Scotty was preceded in death by his parents and sister Kathy Jones.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at the Kenyon Cemetery in Delta, MO at 11:00 am with Bro. Glenn Hamilton officiating.

McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, MO is assisting with arrangements.
