Joe White

William J. “Joe” White, 80, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau.

He was born January 7, 1946, in East St. Louis, Illinois, to William and Frieda Call White.

Joe retired from Ameren UE in St. Louis. He and Sandra Gillon were married September 14, 2018, at Park Hills, Missouri. They moved to Jackson in 2019.

Loving survivors include his wife of nearly eight years, Sandra White of Jackson; daughters, Sue Barber of Florissant, Missouri, Gina White of Belleville, Illinois, Cindy White of Iowa City, Iowa; a grandson, Raymond (Heather) Barber and their son, lil’ Raymond; siblings, Mike (Wanda) White of Anderson, South Carolina, Becky Bone of Sullivan, Missouri, Rhoda Mitchell of Texas; and Tim White of Rushville, Illinois.

Sandra’s surviving family includes two daughters, Michelle (Mike) Matthews of Crystal City, Missouri and Heather (Dale) Silvia of Arnold, Missouri, and their families.

He was preceded in death by a son, Bill White, and his parents.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, June 19, 2026, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. The Rev. Wayne Terrell will conduct the funeral service at 1 p.m., Friday, June 19, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
