Wilma Marie (Statler) Flowers

Wilma M. Flowers, age 95 of Millersville, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 at her her home. She was born January 26, 1927, in Yount, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Mary Hallie Keller Statler. She and George W. "Bud" Flowers married August 15, 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away October 30, 2006. Wilma was a member of First Baptist Church of Millersville for many years. She received her certification as a beautician in 1947 and worked as a beautician in Cape Girardeau. When she and George moved to Millersville in 1975 she owned and operated a beauty shop from her home. Loving survivors include two children Synthia (David) Propst and George C. (Nancee) Flowers all of Millersville; four grandchildren, Ashley (Lanny) Chapman, Makenzi (Nate) Hankins, Caleb (Breanna Stovall) Burton, and Jake (Kristen Carmack) Flowers; and five great grandchildren, Ember, Maddie, Kendal, Zoe and Mason. In addition to her husband, George, of 59 years she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ella Hinkle and Viola Ruch, one brother, Thomas Statler and an infant brother. Visitation will be Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral service will be Sunday, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jason Grubbs officiating. A private committal service will be Monday, January 31, 2022 at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
