The family has requested that the following passage be shared with everyone by a friend:

“Today the Castor River area lost a legend, and Heaven gained an angel. Don Ezell went on to his forever home. Him and I definitely had ups and downs, but overall, he was my friend, a good man, and certainly one of the most knowledgeable people I’ve ever known when it comes to campers. I’m sure there are many that will miss his stories because they were a plenty. The “card crew” will miss him for sure. I still can’t believe the work he did after the tornado last March. If you didn’t bear witness to the “machine” he became, then you really missed out on what true determination looks like. He leaves behind a forever faithful family that have stuck together through everything. Also left to miss him are thousands that are camping families that have come to adore him over the years. I know I’ll miss him, his quirky little jabs at me, and our serious talks about things that we had at times. Rest in peace now Donnie. We’ll all do our best to behave till we see each other again.
