Albert L. Brugger. 99, of Jackson passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 8, 1921 in Gordonville the son of Charles and Helen Kirn Brugger. He and Betty Spalding married August 28, 1947. She passed away January 20, 2002.
Albert was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson. He was a veteran of WWII having been inducted into the United States Army June 9, 1944 and honorably discharged December 18, 1945. During his time in service Albert received campaign medals for Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Erlbacher Equipment Company in Cape Girardeau and had previously worked at Jackson Lumber Company and Johannes Auto Sales in Jackson. Albert was a member of the VFW 3838 in Cape Girardeau.
Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Tina Brugger of Jackson; and two grandsons, Tyler and Cody Brugger also of Jackson.
In addition to his wife of 54 years he was preceded in death by a son Michael Wayne Brugger; two brothers, Edward and Paul Brugger; a sister, Julietta Brugger, and an infant brother.
A memorial visitation will be held from 9 am -10 am, Thursday, October 1, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
A funeral mass will be at 10 am Thursday at the church with Father Randy Tochtrop officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson with full military honors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
