Andrew "Drew" D. King

Andrew "Drew" David King, 21, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, in Columbia, Missouri.

He was born December 13, 1999, in Cape Girardeau, to James "Jamie" and Robin Reisenbichler King.

Drew was a 2018 graduate of Jackson High School, where he was involved in many activities.  He was currently a junior attending the University of Missouri, Columbia.  Drew was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson, where he was a lifelong member.

He was a beloved son of James and Robin Reisenbichler King; brother to LenaMae King and the late Parker James King (2012).

Other loving survivors include paternal grandparents, Bill and Sue King; maternal grandmother, Paula (the late David) Reisenbichler, all of Jackson; uncles and aunts, Billy (Sheila) King, Kevin King, Cheryl (the late Ron) Farrow, Sheila (Marvin) Beussink; 9 cousins, Kayla, Kasey, Connor, Kami, Karson, Hannah, Addison, Seth, and Jacob; and countless friends.

Drew loved to play golf, bowl, play poker and watch NBA games at the pool house with his buddies. Since the loss of his little brother and best friend, Drew was rarely seen without one of his many friends by his side.

Since his recent 21st birthday, he gained an appreciation for the penny slot machines at the Casino and having Mimosa's with his hometown buddies. He was the self-proclaimed 'best burger flipper' at the Jackson McDonald's. He loved attending Mizzou and aspired to be a nurse one day soon. He was an active member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and was dearly loved by all his brothers in the house.

When at home, he enjoyed strategizing for fantasy football or binge watching the newest Netflix series with his dad. He was a Momma's boy who still asked for arm tickles or a back scratch. The best day of his life was the day he rode along to get LenaMae's golden doodle, Simba, and he brought home his own golden lab, Nala, who he dearly loved. On Sundays, Drew could be found with the rest of the family at Mimi's for lunch and Nanny's for dinner.

Drew was handsome, kindhearted, and quick to make you laugh.  He could lighten the mood of any room with his infectious, distinctive laugh and his big, toothy smile.   He had a competitive spirit and loved being on the winning team at the annual pool volleyball tournament. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Guests may pay respects from 2 to 7 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. In hopes of eliminating an extensive receiving line, the family will likely remain in the small chapel near the sanctuary. Masks are encouraged and appreciated.

Please, no delivery of flowers or gifts to the church prior to 1 p.m., and no deliveries to the funeral home.

The funeral is at 10:30 a.m., Monday, January 25, 2021, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jason Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Serving as pallbearers are Carson Barnes, Seth Beussink, Jacob Farrow, Gavin Harris, Collin Hitt, Karson King, Cody Sikorski and Grayson Ward., Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Platz and Dawson Shivley.
