Betty J. Evans, 80, of Jackson, passed away Monday, February 17, 2020, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 29, 1939, in Cape Girardeau to John and Alma T. Christy Biri. Betty attended Jackson High School and worked at the former shoe factory in Cape Girardeau.
She and Roy Evans were married October 18, 1958, in Whidbey Island, Washington. Two sons were born to their union, Roy and Dennis. The family lived many years in the St. Louis area and Betty worked at H & R Electronics and Quick Point Printing Company.
Loving survivors include her husband of 61 years, Roy Evans of Jackson; two sons, Roy (Lisa) Evans, II. of Springville, Tennessee and Dennis (Tonya) Evans of Hillsboro, Missouri; five grandchildren: Krista (John) Indelicato and children Mia and Giovanni of St. Louis; Ryan Evans of St. Louis; Douglas Evans of Cape Girardeau; Alexander Evans of Hillsboro, Missouri; Bethany (Dajohn) Peters and children Daegus, Drazen, Daelon, and Daenerys of Bettendorf, Iowa; and two nephews, Michael (Teal) Biri and children Kennady and Jake of Cape Girardeau; and Brad (Racquel) Biri and daughter Isabella of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by a still born daughter (12/06/1961); her parents and two brothers, John and Mike Biri.
A memorial visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, February 22, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
