Carl W. “Doc” Dockins, 81, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Jackson Manor in Jackson.
He was born August 28, 1939, in Scopus, to Ira and Alma “Jane” Hanners Dockins. Five children were born to their union. He and Delba “Faye” Mayfield were married June 25, 1960, at Mayfield, Missouri. They had been married 48 years when Faye passed away October 29, 2008.
Carl was a 1958 graduate of Jackson High School. He worked 40 years at Atlas/Spartec Plastic in Cape Girardeau, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed dancing, but above all loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Loving survivors include a daughter, Carla (Darrell) Stadt; two grandchildren, Lacey (Robert) Pulley and Lance (Lydia) Stadt all of Jackson; two great-grandchildren Madey and Everleigh Pulley; and two siblings, Jerry (Carolyn) Dockins and Mary Lou Switzer of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his wife and two siblings, Almeta Long and Donald Dockins.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
