Obituary

 

Cletus J. “Pee Wee” Uhrhan, 85, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 25, 1937, in Benton, Missouri, to Stephen and Agnes Berghoff Uhrhan.  He and Sue Carolyn Koester were married on July 29, 1972, at St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.

Cletus operated heavy equipment for several commercial construction companies.  He retired from Bloomsdale Excavating in 1999.

Cletus was a member of St. Mary Cathedral in Cape Girardeau and a former member of Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson.  He had a been a member of Bishop Timon K.C. Council  6405 in Jackson for over 50 years.

Loving survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Uhrhan of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Brenda Sue (Patrick) Kelly of Kansas City, Missouri, Erin (Kevin) Cline of Springfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brandon and Stephen Kelly of Kansas City, Catherine and Benjamin Cline of Springfield; a brother, Vernon (Jerry) Uhrhan of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Irene (the late Cornelius) Blattel of Kelso, Missouri, Rosemary (the late Ronald) Kern of Scott City, Missouri, Helen (Fred) Drew of Imperial, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.  Parish prayers will be held at 7 p.m., immediately followed with Recitation of the Rosary led by K.C. Council 6405.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022, at St. Mary Cathedral, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association, Knights of Columbus Council 6405, or the St. Mary Building Fund.
