David Seabaugh Obituary

David Ray Seabaugh, 69, passed away on September 12, 2020 at his home in Friedheim from continued complication related to a cystectomy.

He was born on April 21, 1951 in Cape Girardeau, son of Guy and Dorothy Seabaugh. He and his high school sweetheart and wife of 48 years, Donna Wibbenmeyer Seabaugh, were united in marriage on May 13, 1972 at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle.

David was a 1969 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. He joined the Missouri Army National Guard and served 6 years with the 1140th Engineer Battalion out of Jackson.

He was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and spent many hours alongside his wife Donna preparing for and working at church breakfasts.  He was also a 3rd degree Knight serving as financial secretary with St. Michael’s Knights of Columbus Council #12934.

David worked many years as a truck driver, but his real passion was farming and raising cattle to which he dedicated much time and care throughout his entire life. David was quiet in nature but enjoyed visiting with friends and always brought humor to a conversation.

Survivors include his wife Donna of Friedheim; his father Guy of Jackson; children Dana (Brad) Craft of Sedgewickville, Dawn Seabaugh (Eric Austin, special friend) of St. Louis, and Darin Seabaugh of Jackson; Grandchildren Kayleen (David) Devenport of Oak Ridge, Dalton Thieret of Perryville, and Caleb Seabaugh of Jackson. Siblings Martha (Verlin) Mangels, Anita (Jeff) Hahs, and Roger (Bonnie) Seabaugh, all of Oak Ridge. In-laws Norman Wibbenmeyer of Gatesville, TX, Doris Saupe of Jackson and Bernice (Steve) Niermann of Chester IL, and 15 nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by Dorothy Seabaugh (mother), Edgar and Lucille Wibbenmeyer (father and mother-in-law), Luke Craft (infant grandson), and Glenn Saupe (brother-in-law).
