DeNiqua Sh'Von Huddleston Obituary

DeNiqua Sh'Von Huddleston, 26, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, at her home in Jackson.  She had experienced seizures the past several years.

DeNiqua was born August 14, 1993, in Kennett, Missouri, to DeWande Marie Huddleston and Cornell D. Braxton I.  She was a 2012 graduate of Jackson High School.

She was in a long-term, loving relationship with her soulmate, Sherrod Willis of Jackson, and they share one daughter, D'Mia LaShay Willis.

DeNiqua was an active member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson, where she rededicated her life to Christ and helped with the church's food drive.  She was formerly a member of New Horizon Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, also the church of her baptism.

For DeNiqua, it was "family first".  She loved her family with everything she had.  She was an energetic mother and wonderful provider for D'Mia; a devoted daughter and a protective, encouraging sister.  She was beautiful inside and out, had a magnetic personality, was confident, strong, and had a smile that could light up a room.

She was proud to be part of the custodial staff at Jackson R-2 Jr. High School.  She previously worked at Imo's, Walmart, Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken in Jackson, and Taco Bell in Cape Girardeau.

To mourn her passing, she leaves her parents, DeWande "Cora" Huddleston of Jackson and Cornell (Lakishea) Braxton I of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, D'Mia La'Shay "Sugie" Willis; D'Mia's father, Sherrod “Daddy” Willis of Jackson, his children, Jay Ryan Willis, King Ryan Willis, LayLay Willis, and Tei'Orii Nia'moni Huckaby, and his parents, James (the late Georgeatta) Willis of Murphysboro, Illinois.

Her siblings from her mother include Dary Wayne McIntyre of Cape Girardeau and DeMesha ShunTrice "Booty" Huddleston of Jackson.

Siblings from her father include Martez Bunch of Wisconsin, Cornell D. Braxton II of Columbia, Missouri, DeMarcus Robinson of Hayti, Missouri, Briana Braxton of Southhaven, Mississippi, Neisha Fisher of Kansas City, Missouri, Ariel D. Braxton of Columbia, Missouri, Cortez D. Braxton of Kennett, Missouri, Cornellius D. Braxton of Southhaven, Kianna M. Braxton of Hayti, and Kobie K. Chillers of Southhaven.

Other maternal survivors include grandparents, Gwyndle (Rev. Howard) McGee, Jr., of Cape Girardeau; niece, Zipporah Kolby Bley of Franklin, Kentucky; aunt, Yvonne Hollywood of Gosnell, Arkansas; maternal uncles, Eric Huddleston of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Mallory Sutton of Chicago, Illinois, and Jerry Johnson of Kennett, Missouri.

Paternal survivors include grandparents, Patricia Braxton of Cape Girardeau and Freddie (Lovie) Harper of Kansas City, Missouri, and many uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, DeMarcus Rontez Huddleston, and maternal grandfather, Otis Taylor.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, June 20, 2020, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Jackson.

The funeral is at noon, Saturday, June 20, 2020, at the church, with the Rev. Nathan Brown officiating.  Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
