Dodie Eisenhauer Obituary

Delores K. "Dodie" Eisenhauer, 75, of Daisy, passed away Thursday, January 13 in her home surrounded by family.

She was born July 12, 1946, in Cape Girardeau, to Delos and Elva Friese Sebaugh. She and Robert G. "Bob" Eisenhauer were married June 18, 1966. Five children were born to their union: Jill, Jenny, Jadie, Tim, and Aaron.

Dodie was a 1964 graduate of Oak Ridge High School. She attended college at Southeast Missouri State University and University of Missouri in Columbia.

Upon settling back in Daisy after military travels with Bob, Dodie became a La Leche League leader, often using her evenings to meet with groups of new mothers to share with them the benefits of nursing their babies. Dodie began her art career in 1972 by exhibiting at art fairs with her painting. In 1985, Dodie was honored to be one of the charter juried artists of the state organization Best of Missouri Hands. Her medium changed to wire art as she established Village Designs, a thriving business that sold her designs nationwide. In 1996 Dodie opened her grandmother's house as a seasonal Christmas shop in Daisy called Christmas at Grandma's House.

Dodie found beauty everywhere. Clouds and flowers were obvious favorites, but she was also partial to antique door handles and rock walls. Her hobbies included gardening, fixing everything in the house with wire, and drinking coffee. She had the joy, joy, joy, joy, down in her heart and her gentleness was evident to all. Dodie's greatest joy was being a loving spouse, mom, and grandma.

Loving survivors include her spouse of 55 years, Bob Eisenhauer of Daisy; five children: Jill (Keith) Jacques of Maynard, Massachusetts; Jennifer (Ty) Turner of Pocahontas, Missouri; Jadie (Greg) Mayes of Catonsville, Maryland; Timothy (Randi) Eisenhauer of Columbia, Missouri; and Aaron (Ali) Eisenhauer of Perryville, Missouri; six grandchildren, Livia McCarthy, Emma Jacques, Evan Turner, Jonah Turner, Hannah Jacques, and Maxwell Eisenhauer; a sister, Marge (Don) Green of Park City, Kentucky; nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

Dodie was preceded in death by her brother, Perry Sebaugh.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4-7 PM at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Missouri.

The Rev. Jerry Bailey will officiate a memorial service Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 11 AM, at Sargent's Chapel Lutheran Church near Daisy where she was a long-time member.
