Doris Lucille (Skaggs) Elkins

Doris Lucille Elkins, 87, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at her home.
She was born June 6, 1935, in Aurora, Missouri, daughter of Harry Elmer and Dora Ethel Gardener Skaggs. She and Murphy Eugene Elkins were married. He passed away October 25, 1987.
Doris was a switchboard operator for Missouri Department of Mental Health for 30 years. She was a faithful member at Fruitland Church of Christ for many years.
Loving survivors include four children, Carol Robinson of Houston, Texas, Sharon (Robert) McDowell, of Cape Girardeau, Ronald (Cynthia) Elkins of Farmington, Missouri and Donald (Lisa) Elkins of Fulton, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Scott Hoehn of Cosby, Texas, Jennifer Shoemaker -Smith of Pearland, Texas, Rachael Harding - Sealy of Texas, Brandon Elkins of Farmington, Sarah Inman of Cape Girardeau, Alexis Myers of Sikeston, Missouri, David, Bryan, Ashley Elkins and Alaina Hamilton all of Fulton; 21 great - grandchildren and three great - great grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Charles Skaggs of Aurora and two sisters, Helen Lancaster of West Memphis, Arkansas and Jean Howell of Jefferson City, Missouri.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Skaggs and her parents.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Fruitland Church of Christ.
Funeral service will be at 11:00AM on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the church with Rev. Joe Chesser officiating.
A Graveside service will be Monday, November 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM in St. Francois Memorial Park and mausoleum in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Fruitland Church of Christ.
