Dwayne Whitlock

Roger "Dwayne" Whitlock, 84, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

Dwayne was born February 10, 1937, to Roger M Whitlock and Wilma Dodd in Raleigh, Illinois. He and Loretta Ratledge were married May 29, 1959 in Pontiac, Michigan. She survives.

Dwayne was inducted into the United States Navy on October 4, 1954 and was honorably discharged December 27, 1957.

Dwayne was a member of Millersville Baptist Church where he used to be actively involved in mission work. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, Dwayne is survived by two sons, Steve (Denise) Whitlock of Summerville, SC and Doug (Laura) Whitlock of Flowery Branch, GA; three grandsons, Joey Whitlock of Sandy Springs, GA, Grant Whitlock of Atlanta, GA, and Justin Whitlock of Flowery Branch, GA; three step-granddaughters, Aleah Gazall, Ayanah Gazall, and Anisah Gazall, all of Ohio and; four siblings, Patricia Williams of North Muskegon, MI, Nancy Eastman of Alpena, MI, Richard Whitlock of Goodrich, MI and Sherry Torz of North Muskegon, MI; and his step-mother, Marian Whitlock of North Muskegon, MI.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Charles Whitlock, Pamela Morris and Jo Ann Spencer.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 10am until time of service at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be at 11am at the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Grubbs and Rev. Dennis Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau or the Millersville Baptist Church.
