Edith Habbersett Obituary

Edith Wren Habbersett, 96, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, November 7th, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born August 26, 1922, in Tyler, Texas, the daughter of Henry C. and Georgie Hemby Trimble.

Edith married H.S. Wren in June of 1940. They made their first home in Palestine, Texas and then moved to St. Louis in 1959.  Upon retirement they moved to Vero Beach, Florida.  H.S. went to his heavenly home in 1990.

In 1995 Edith married William Habbersett. He preceded her in death October 10, 2008.  Poor health caused her to move to Cape Girardeau to be near family.  Her home quickly became Ratliff Care Center where she received the best of care.

She is survived by a son, Cary C. Wren, of St. Louis and a daughter, Cynthia “Candy” (David) Hahs of Cape Girardeau; four grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, Jeff Wren of St. Louis and his son, Nathan, Christy (Jim) Mares of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin and their daughter, Jessica, Brandon (Marilyn) Hahs of Cypress, Texas, and their children, Andrew, Luke, and Natalie, and Clayton (Miste) Hahs of Cape Girardeau and their children, Samuel and Ella.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church located at 1750 20th St, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
