Ellyn Elizabeth (Colyer) Dimond

Ellyn Elizabeth Colyer Dimond joined the choir of heavenly angels January 17th, 2019 at her home in Farmington.

She was born June 22, 1977 in Trenton, Missouri to Brennan and Martha Colyer, and sister Lynda. Ellyn spent her early childhood in Missouri, Colorado, and Alaska, before moving to Farmington in 1986.

Ellyn loved singing! She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age and loved singing to His glory. Most recently she sang in the Caliente Community Choir. She also loved traveling in the US and abroad with family and friends. She loved meeting new people and helping others.

Ellyn graduated from Farmington High School in 1995 as salutatorian. She went on to Texas Tech University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing in 1999. She immediately began working for Orthopedic Associates and became a surgical first assist. In 2014, she began working for San Juan Endoscopy and continued her career until 2017. Ellyn was always committed to her patients and colleagues.  In 2001, Ellyn competed and won the title of Miss New Mexico USA. She competed in the Miss USA Pageant in Gary, Indiana and made some lasting friendships with women around the nation.

In 2001, Ellyn married Matthew Dimond and in 2010, she began her favorite career, being a mother. The biggest love and joy in her life was being a mother to Rory Evelyn and Sullivan Ryan. They will continue to share her kindness and sweet spirit, as she watches over them from her heavenly home.

Ellyn is survived by her parents, Brennan and Martha Colyer, sister Lynda (Billy) Havens; niece, Layne McLaughlin; Aunts and Uncles- Betty and David Carleton, John and Melody Hagans, Scott and Donna Colyer, and Greg Colyer. She also leaves numerous loving cousins and friends.

Ellyn is preceded in death by grandparents, John and Kathryn Hagans, Woodrow and Ruth Colyer, and 2 infant cousins.

Ellyn was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

A memorial service for Ellyn will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Farmington, N.M., January 22, 2019 at 10:00 am with Rev. Steve Ballew officiating, A memorial fund in Ellyn's name has been set up for the Emmanuel Baptist Church Children's Department.
