Elvira Engert, 93, of Oak Ridge passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 2, 1927 in Tilsit, Missouri daughter of Otto F. and Wilhemina Baer Werner. She and Edward E. “Cut” Engert were married September 24, 1950 in Frohna, Missouri. He passed away April 14, 2006.
Elvira was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Tilsit and confirmed at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. She was currently a member at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include two children, Shelby Engert and Jo Dean (Radley) Jauch both of Oak Ridge; three grandchildren Alex Jauch, Cara (Brandon) Rains and Chris (Wendy) Jauch; six great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Also surviving are one brother, Ervin (Darlene) Werner and a sister in law Kathryn Werner both of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and one sister.
The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The funeral service will be private for immediate family.
Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Saxony Lutheran High School.
