Eula Lucille (Cook) Limbaugh

Eula Lucille Limbaugh, 101, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2020, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 3, 1919, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, daughter of Fred H. and Doshie Mae Propst Cook. She and Joseph Turner Limbaugh were married Jan. 21, 1938. He died Oct. 18, 2006.

Eula was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School. She was a member at New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and was active in Wesleyan Circle and Fellowship Sunday School Class, and was a past church board member. Eula also was member and a past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star No. 91 in Jackson, and a past president of the Thursday Literacy Club of General Federation of Women’s Clubs. 

She worked as an instructor at the International Shoe factory in Jackson for 42 years. After retirement, she volunteered at Southeast Hospital.

Loving survivors include two nephews, Rob Cook of Dallas, Texas, and Shane Cook of St. Louis; and a niece, Judy Sneathen of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, her parents and three brothers.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the gazebo at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Jimmie Corbin officiating.

Interment will follow at Memorial Park.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Mid-American Teen Challenge or New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.
