Frank Robert Burns, 88, of Jackson, passed away October 10, 2023, at Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau.
He was born November 7, 1934, in Glen Allen, Missouri, to C. E. and Rose Klein Burns. He and Joan Nussbaum were married April 10, 1954, at Christ Lutheran Church in Gordonville.
Frank owned and operated the Burns Farm north of Jackson and worked over 30 years as a crew leader for the Missouri State Highway Department. After retirement, he worked for Birk Trucking.
Frank was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson and played in the Dart Ball League.
Loving survivors include his wife of 69 years, Joan Burns of Jackson; three children, Victor (Carolyn) Burns, Todd R. (Teresa) Burns, and Lynn (late Doug) Schreiner, all of Jackson; six grandchildren: Brittany Moore and fiancé Tod Daniels; Brandi (Luke) LeGrand; Brandon (Megan) Lorenz; Justin (Mindy) Lorenz; Mandie (Brent) Presser; Deanna (Keith) Costello; and beloved great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, three sisters, and his parents.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9:30 a.m. to service time, Friday, October 13, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
The Rev. Joshua Schmidt will conduct a memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 13, 2023, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Paul Lutheran School or Southeast Hospice.
