Gary E. Arnzen, 53, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home.
He was born September 17, 1966, in St. Charles, Missouri, to Ralph and Judy Summers Arnzen. He and Belinda Wooten were married September 4, 1999, in Jackson.
Gary graduated from Scott City High School and served honorably in the U.S. Marines. He was employed as a Chief Engineer with Ingram Barge.
Gary was a big guy with a big heart. He made people feel special by picking on them. He always made sure friends and family were taken care of and never wanted praise for his efforts. He enjoyed having gatherings at his home - and, as the family recalls, he was always perfectly happy to watch Belinda take care of the preparation and entertainment. He was also an avid hunter.
Loving survivors include his wife of 20 years, Belinda Arnzen of Jackson, and their fur babies, Baby, Daisy, and Sarge; his mother, Patricia Arnzen of Jackson; three siblings, Diane Arnzen of St. Louis, David (Julie) Arnzen of San Angelo, Texas, Scott (Julie) Arnzen of Jackson; nephews, Paul, Austin, David, Tye, Lane; nieces, Elizabeth, Baleigh, and Kynleigh; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his birth parents, Ralph and Judy Arnzen; and a canine buddy, Sonny.
Due to current health concerns, the family will honor Gary with a private memorial service at a later date.
Cremation arrangements by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Because Gary was a proponet of no-kill animal shelters, the family requests that memorials take the form of contributions to Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 359 Cree Lane, Jackson, Missouri 63755.
