Geneva B. (Seabaugh) Ruesler

Geneva B. Ruesler, 86, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Chateau Girardeau.

She was born February 24, 1936, in Friedheim, Mo, daughter of Jessie L. and Opal (Crites) Seabaugh. She and Darwin F. Ruesler were married December 23, 1954, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. He preceded her in death August 16, 2000.

Geneva was baptized at Sargent's Chapel on October 23, 1938. She was member of New Salem Church for 5 years until she joined her husband at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. They moved to Jackson, where she and Darwin became longtime members at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Geneva worked for Ralph Edwards Sportswear for 24 years and was supervisor for 21 of those years. She then worked at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau for 5 years, and Tri-Con for 4 years, and sat with the elderly in their homes for 12 years. She was also a hospice volunteer for 8 years.

Loving survivors include, two children, Kenneth (Pat) Ruesler of Jackson, Debbie Sue (Lenzel) Jaco of Millersville; five grandchildren, Gretchen (Josh) Featherston, Corey (Amanda) Ruesler, Jesse Ruesler, Richard Jaco and Amy (Clay) Church; nine great-grandchildren, Lauren hazelwood, Leigh Ann Moore, Alex Featherston, Kaden Featherston, Stella Ruesler, Cooper Featherston, Brooklyn Ruesler, Ella Church, and Collin Church; and four great-great-grandchildren, Perry Hazelwood V, Lilli Overbey, Colton Overbey, and Jameson Beasly.

In addition to her husband and parents, Geneva is preceded in death by three brothers, Josph, Leo and Leroy Seabaugh; and a sister, Annis Heuring.

Visitations will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, from 11 AM- 1 PM at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson. Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Alex Lukefahr officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Memorial may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
