Gracie Genevieve “Genny” Schott, 82, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020, at her home in Jackson.
She was born March 17, 1938, in Phelps County, Missouri, to Charles M. and Elsa Engle Saladin. She and Marlyn L. “Bud” Schott were married November 26, 1955, in Chesterfield, Missouri. Three children were born to their union, Connie, Joy, and Michael.
Genny worked in the postal department of the Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, in J.C. Penney stores in St. Louis and Texas, and in the cafeteria of Pond Elementary School in Pond, Missouri.
During their marriage, Genny and Bud were faithful members of several churches. Genny always enjoyed singing in choir, and teaching, especially children’s Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. They are currently members of Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
Loving survivors include her husband of nearly 65 years, Rev. Marlyn “Bud” Schott of Jackson; three children, Connie L. (Tommy) Weatherly and Joy (Dennis) Siebert, both of Jackson, and Michael (Mauna) Schott of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister, Joyce (Charles) Schroeder of Jackson; five grandchildren, Jonathan, Jason, Ami, Tarin, and Alisa; and a great-granddaughter, Natalie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her stepmother, Inez Saladin. Genny enjoyed a very close relationship with her stepmother.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to service time, Monday, November 2, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral is at 1 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2020, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating.
Interment is private at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Shawnee Hills Baptist Church in Jackson.
