Harold E. Robinson, 83, of Jackson, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021, at his home.
He was born December 9, 1937, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to Robert and Dessie Bollinger Robinson. He and Mary Myers were united in marriage on May 26, 1962, at the United Methodist Church in Oak Ridge, Missouri.
Harold grew up in Patton, Missouri, and even at a young age he was a hard worker and helped take care of his family. He honorably served six years in the Missouri National Guard. He worked several jobs over the years, finally retiring from Forklifts of Cape after 19 years of service, and then enjoying over 20 years of “retirement,” where he stayed just as busy working on various projects and hobbies. Harold loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed cutting wood and picking up pecans. Every stick of firewood was cut to an exact length and stacked perfectly, and friends joke that he was “nuts” about picking up every pecan under the tree.
Harold’s passion over the last 55+ years was antique cars. When restoring a car he was very detailed – taking every piece apart and meticulously cleaning, repairing, and reassembling. He loved giving rides, driving in parades, and attending car shows. He was an active member of the Capaha Antique Car Club. Through this hobby he made some of his best friends.
The absolute joy of Harold’s life was his wife and family. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, telling stories and watching his family grow and have fun together. Harold will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and his strong work ethic.
Loving survivors include his wife of 59 ½ years, Mary Robinson of Jackson; two daughters, Pam (Todd) Cook of Oak Ridge and Amy (Steve) Dustmann of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Joshua (Jackie) Cook of Jackson and Kristen (Hunter) Seyer of Oak Ridge; two great-grandchildren, Noah and Harper Seyer; and five siblings, Mildred Presnell of Patton, Missouri, Glenda (Jerry Paul) Barks of Jackson, Roy (Sue) Robinson of Brewer, Missouri, Noranna Maynard of Patton, Missouri, and Jerry Lee (Judy) Robinson of Jackson, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Gladys Whaley and Rick Robinson.
Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2021, and from 9 a.m. to service time, Monday, November 15, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Harold’s pastors from Connection Point Church, the Revs. Kevin Mann and Chris Vaught, and family friend, Charlie Mangels, will conduct the funeral at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Old Goshen Cemetery near Oak Ridge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may take the form of contributions to Connection Point Church, Old Goshen Cemetery, or the ALS Association (St. Louis Chapter).
