James Lynn Hecht

James Lynn Hecht, 68, of Jackson passed away Saturday, August 2, 2025, at his home.

He was born on September 26, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ellis and Dorothy Ruehling Hecht. He and LaRhonda Young were married on March 6, 1982

James graduated from Jackson High School in 1975, where he was recognized as an All-State Football player. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Wells and participated in the church's softball league. Throughout his career, James held positions at Lonestar, BioKyowa, and Mondi, retiring in April of 2024.

Loving survivors include his wife of 43 years, LaRhonda Hecht of Jackson; a son, Jason Hecht of Jackson; a daughter, Jordan (Andrew) Lane of St. Louis; siblings, Rick Hecht and Catherine (Delwayne) Wright both of Jackson; four grandchildren, Jerimiah James Hecht II, Knox, Mac and Noa Lane.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jeremiah “JJ” Hecht.

The visitation will be from 4 to 7p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The Rev. Cory Stallings will conduct the funeral service at 10 a.m., on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Wells.

The family suggests that contributions be made to American Diabetes Association.
