James Allen Randol, 56, of Jackson passed away as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Monday, September 11, 2023 in Cape Girardeau.
He was born December 28, 1966 in Patuxent River, Maryland, the son of Junior B. "Mike" and Nellie Varner Randol.
James was a 1985 graduate of Jackson High School, where he played the trombone in band. During high school, he worked at the power plant for the City of Jackson. James received his certification as a draftsman and CAD operator from Linn Technical Institute in Linn, Missouri.
From 1987-2001, he worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation and in 2001 he moved his family to Mesa, Arizona, where he worked for the M2 Corporation. In July 2002 he returned to Jackson where he has been working as a draftsman and CAD operator at Bowen Engineering in Cape Girardeau.
James had many interests which included kayaking, remote control cars, and more recently photography and collecting pocket watches.
He also enjoyed becoming a homeowner once again, where he could learn about the flowers coming up around his house.
James was a kind hearted person who was always joking around, trying to put a smile on everyone's face. He never met a stranger and was willing to help others at any time.
Loving survivors include his son, Dustin (Heather Brown) Randol of Jackson; a grandson, Dexter Michael Randol; his mother whom he adored, Nellie Randol Lipp of Jackson; a brother, Mark (Jackey) Randol of Austin, Texas; a nephew and two nieces, James Michael Randol, MaryKatherine Randol, and Christina Randol; a great niece, Katherine Mamey.
Also surviving is his close friend and former wife Angelia D. Cobb and numerous other friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Junior "Mike" Randol in 1974; and his paternal grandparents Rose (Art) Musgrave and Bea Randol.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. to service time, Friday, September 15, 2023, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. Mike Parry will conduct the funeral service at 2 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
