Jeffrey L. Bierman, 57, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born May 12, 1963, in Sparta, Illinois, to Arkel and Nola Williamson Bierman. He and Paula Rhodes were married September 23, 1989, in Jackson.
Jeff was a 1981 graduate of Jackson High School and graduated from SEMO with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Jeff worked in marketing for Cape County Bank and its successor banks and Blue Cross Blue Shield. The past several years, he was part owner and manager of Swinford and Associates in Jackson, a health insurance brokerage firm.
Jeff was a longtime, active member of Crossroads Fellowship Church and Kimbeland Country Club, both in Jackson. He was an avid “Thursday Evening” golfer, enjoyed traveling for golf tournaments, and was a Jackson High School Football enthusiast.
His family affectionately remembers him for his quiet wisdom. He always had a listening ear and was never critical of others. He was a very devoted husband, father, PaPa, son, brother, and uncle.
Loving survivors include his wife of 30 years, Paula Bierman of Jackson; son, Eric (Megan) Fraley and daughters, Palmer and Reese of Jackson; daughter, Kelsey Bierman of Memphis, Tennessee; mother, Nola Koch of Steeleville, Illinois; three brothers, Cam (Connie) Bierman of Hutto, Texas, Doug (Kathy) Bierman of Seymour, Indiana, Scott (Kim) Koch of St. Louis; father-in-law, C. L. “Buck” (Emmalee) Rhodes of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; sister-in-law, Pam (Craig) Smith of Poplar Bluff; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews
He was preceded in death by his father, Arkel Bierman, and his mother-in-law, Kathern Rhodes.
The Rev. Brian Anderson will officiate private arrangements at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson and Russell Heights Cemetery.
A Memorial Celebration will be announced at a later date.
