Jerry Friese Obituary

Jerry Lee Friese, 65, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born December 16, 1955, in Cape Girardeau, to Luther “Bud” and Nancy A. “Alene” Wilson Friese.  He and Mary Virginia Lehmann were married August 2, 1980, in Jackson.

Jerry was a graduate of Jackson High School.  He was first employed at Crites Farms near Oak Ridge.  He retired from MoDot, briefly worked for Birk Trucking, and was currently employed at Jackson R-2 School District.

Jerry’s first church home was Oak Ridge Methodist Church.  After marriage, he became a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.  He later attended the First General Baptist Church (now Connection Point) in Jackson, and Fruitland Community Church.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and hiking.

Loving survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Friese of Jackson; two daughters, Bethany Friese and Joanna (Matthew) Koehler; his mother, Alene Friese of Jackson; two sisters, Patricia (Doug) Overbeck and Sharron Werner; grandsons, Titus, Lucas, and Elijah Koehler; in-laws, Peter (Carol) Lehmann, Martha (Don) Mann, Walter (Susan) Lehmann, Ruth (Don) Hodges, David (Bette) Lehmann, Paul Lehmann, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bud Friese; two siblings, Carolyn Moonier and Stanley Friese; and a brother-in-law, James Lehmann.

Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to service time, Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Connection Point Church in Jackson.  Masks are encouraged and appreciated.

The funeral is at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020, at the church, with the Rev. Chris Vaught officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to the donor’s choice of church or charity.
