Jerry Lewis, 82, of Cape Girardeau passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Cape Girardeau, the son of the late Charles T. and Anita E Sandvoss Lewis. He and Beverly Ann Carr were married June 2, 1957, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death April 16, 2018.
Jerry graduated from College High School in 1956 and served in the Missouri National Guard and also on the Cape Girardeau Fire Department for a while. He worked as a delivery driver for Colonial Bread Co. and retired from Glazier Distribution.
He and his brother, Delmar, were owners of a Missouri Century Farm. He loved to fish and rabbit hunt in his younger days and most recently enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels in his back yard.
Loving survivors include his son, Guy (Benita) Lewis of Cape Girardeau; daughter, Anna (David Sr.) Dienstbach of Cape Girardeau; brother, Delmar (Brenda) Lewis of Millersville; and brother-in-law, Ken Carr, along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Maevers.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Egypt Mills.
