John Brown Obituary

John P. Brown, 54, of Jackson, died Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at his home.

He was born April 26, 1965, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, to Loren and Mamie Wilson Brown. 

John was a 1983 graduate of Byron High School in Byron, Illinois.  While working part-time for UPS and attending SEMO University in Cape Girardeau, he met Stacey Cline.  He and Stacey were married June 12, 1993, at Lake Wappappello, Missouri. 

John worked nearly 33 years for UPS, primarily as a feeder driver, and recently earned a 25-year safe driving badge. 

John liked to fish and watch the Chicago Bears, but he especially enjoyed camping at their family lot on Current River.

Loving survivors include his wife of 26 years, Stacey Cline Brown, and two daughters, Aubrey and Kendyll, all of Jackson; his mother, Mamie (the late Loren) Brown of Doniphan; and three siblings, Ronnie (Jeanne) Brown of Doniphan, Steve (Donna) Brown of Byron, Illinois, and Gail (Dwayne) Swanson of Rockford, Illinois; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Loren Brown.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time, Friday, February 28, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2020, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
