Kathryn W. Kemper, 93, of Altenburg, Missouri passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2020, at her home.
She was born Jan. 25, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of Joseph C. and Aileen Howell Woodbury.
After her first marriage, Kathryn lived in St. Louis for 25 years and worked for Paramount Pictures, a travel agency, several family newspapers, and Monsanto World Headquarters. In 1977, she and her second husband, Jim R. Kemper, moved to Cape Girardeau, where she worked for Drury Industries until she retired in 1992. After failing health, she lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Eugene Kemper, from 2006 until her death.
Kathryn enjoyed traveling, especially the several opportunities she had to visit Europe, Scandinavia and the Mediterranean. Kathryn always cared for others, and her love of family was astounding.
In addition to her daughter, Diana Kemper, loving survivors include a grandson, Gavin (Stefanie) Kemper, and grandchildren, Aviana Kemper and Rylie Kemper, all of Altenburg.
She was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Eugene S. Kemper; four sisters; a brother; and her parents.
There will be no services at this time.
Cremation will be accorded by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Missouri Food Bank.
