Kenneth Siebert Obituary

Kenny Siebert, 81, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 26, 1937, in Jackson, to Edwin Otto and Dina Hulda Fluegge Siebert.  He was baptized June 26, 1937 and confirmed March 18, 1951, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit, where his church membership remained.  He and Elda Mae Nitsch were married March 15, 1959 at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson.

Kenny drove a truck for Freeman Siebert in Daisy, Missouri and Straightway in Jackson.  He was a road superintent, working nearly 41 years for the Cape Girardeau County Highway Department, retiring in April of 1999.  He often recalls his favorite memories of building bridges, clearing roads (especially the Blizzard of 1979), and being involved in the construction of the Diversion Channel Bridge.  Kenny and Elda lived in Tilsit for several years before moving to Jackson.  From 1972 to 2008, Kenny farmed, raising hogs, cattle, and hay near Tilsit.

Kenny enjoyed dancing at Stroder Country and the American Legion Hall in Jackson.  He loved to play cards with his friends, and thoroughly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Loving survivors include his wife, Elda Siebert, of Jackson; two daughters, Martha (Claude) Friese of Jackson and Mary Henson of Jackson; four grandchildren, Travis (Kelsie) Friese of Sikeston, Austin (Dawn) Friese of Whitewater, Kaylan “Katie” Friese of Cape Girardeau, and Amanda Henson (Roger Poole) of Cape Girardeau; five-great grandchildren, Allyse, Amelia, and Jayden Tucker and Kendra and Raelynn Poole;  a sister, Betty L. Siebert of Jackson; a sister-in-law, Nelda (the late John) Siebert of Jackson; a nephew, Gary (Nicole) Siebert of Cape Girardeau; a great-niece, Kelsi Siebert; and two great-nephews, Coby and Kory Siebert, all of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John Siebert.

Friends may call Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m., at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is Monday, July 30, 2018, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Boettcher officiating.  It is the family's desire to drive Kenneth past the family farm prior to the committal at Russell Heights Cemetery.  So, prior to the graveside ceremony, the procession will loop through Tilsit and back to Jackson on the south side of the cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Tilsit or the Alzheimer’s Association.
