Kurt Hougland, 61, of Millersville, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home in Millersville.
He was born March 1, 1962, in Binghamton, New York, son of Russell Allyn and Bernice Brautigam Hougland. He and Sheri House were married April 22, 1988 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Kurt was a kind and loving man. After being diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease, he was determined that it would not define his life. He was an avid cyclist for over 40 years, he accomplished a cross country bicycle trip at age 50. Kurt was self – employed, putting his talents to use for recoloring surfaces of bathtubs and appliances, only retiring due to health. Above all, he valued his time with his family and friends.
Loving survivors include his wife, Sheri House; a daughter, Jaclyn Currie; two granddaughters, Harmony and Symphony; three siblings, Deb McGuire and Patricia (Milt) Morton and Eric (Les Case) Hougland; father –in – law Ken (Martha Ellen) House and mother – in – law Ann (Alan) Bowling; sister – in – laws, Gail (Jim LaRocca) Cronauer and DJ (Jim) Spantgos and brother – in – law, David House.
Also surviving are 24 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Philip Okoro; a brother, Mark Hougland; two sisters, Sharon and Andrea Hougland; brother – in – laws, Jeff McGuire and Greg House; and his parents;
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 – 6:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 in Cape County Park South, shelter 24. Lunch will be provided.
