Glenda Lois Flannery, 79, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Monticello House in Jackson.
She was born April 29, 1943, near Whitewater, daughter of Ennis W. and Eula Mary Brown Seiler. She and William Henry “Bill” Flannery were married June 29, 1963, at the Whitewater Methodist Church. They had been married 52 years when Bill passed away July 5, 2015.
Lois was a 1961 graduate of Delta High School. She attended Cape Business College and worked 25 years as a proof operator for Cape State Bank and Mercantile Bank. She also worked 30 years for Beggs Orchard in Jackson.
Lois always enjoyed being around people and was happiest when supporting her family. She served as first president of the Jackson DeMolay Mother’s Club, was a member of the Jackson Jaycee Wives and Jackson Noon Optimist, and volunteered with the Oral Health Coalition, visiting local schools to promote dental hygiene and early detection of other concerns.
Loving survivors include a son, Allen (Karen) Flannery of Wildwood, Missouri; two daughters, Laura (Brian) Keller and Angela (Sam) Davis both of Jackson; eight grandchildren; Terry, Lexi, Thomas, and Trevor Flannery, and Kaitlyn and Jesse Keller, Jaden and Lynlee Davis; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Alaina Barnett; and a special cousin, Roger Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, and from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, September 22, 2022, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The Rev. David Conley will conduct the funeral at 11 a.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
