Marjorie Ann “Marge” Cook, 81, of Millersville, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 8, 1940, in Sedgewickville, Missouri, to John Bill and Nell Audrey Brotherton Roe. She and Paul Dean Cook were married August 23, 1957. Four children were born to their union, Tammy, Todd, Teresa, and Toby. They had been married 42 years when Dean passed away August 25, 1999.
Marge was a 1958 graduate of Patton High School. She retired from Lenco after 30 years of employment.
She was a 32-year member of Connection Point Church in Jackson and a longtime member of Oak Ridge OES Chapter 310 (now in Millersville).
Marge loved spending time with friends and family, but it was the grandkids and great-grandkids that brought her true joy. She also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and riding horses, especially Big Red.
Loving survivors include her “four T’s”: Tammy (Fred) Grossner of Patton, Missouri, Todd (Pam) Cook of Oak Ridge, Missouri, Teresa (Mike “Sparky”) Clark of Millersville, Missouri, and Toby (Kimberly) Cook of Millersville; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three brothers, John B. “Jay” (Betty) Roe of Ballwin, Missouri, Bob (Daisy) Roe of Marquand, and Darold (Frances) Roe of Sedgewickville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three sisters, Verla (Roy) Stroder, Betty (Troy “Jake” Hobeck) Langston, and Audrey (Leonard) Langston, and a very special friend, Bud Sharrock.
Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral is at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Chris Vaught officiating. Burial will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to Southeast Cancer Center or Connection Point Church.
