Mary Ann Brune Obituary

Mary Ann Brune, 80, of Sedgewickville, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at the Monticello House in Jackson.

She was born January 22, 1941, in Friedheim, daughter of Fred W. and Mary “Leona” Riehn Kurre.  She and Clyde “Bill” Brune were married July 19, 1958 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim, Mo. They had been married 53 years when Bill passed away on October 5, 2011.

Mary Ann attended Perryville High School and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.

She was faithful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. While Bill enjoyed his shooting matches, Mary loved to be in the kitchen cooking for the men. She was a great seamstress and enjoyed sewing while working at the former Lambert’s Fabric Shop in Cape Girardeau for many years. Mary’s home was always opened to family and friends to visit and have a home cooked meal.

Loving survivors include two sons, Douglas (Carolyn) Brune and Stephen Brune, both of Sedgewickville, four grandchildren, J. D. Brune of Jackson, Ashley (Justin) Koerber and Courtney Brune of Gordonville, and Tyler (Dana) Brune of Sedgewickville, three great-grandchildren, Ashtin and  Layton Koerber, and Drew Thorne; a brother-in-law, Kelly (Betty) Brune of Friedheim, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband; five brothers-in-law; and seven sisters-in-law.
