Mary Jo Donna Way, age 59, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, February 5, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 2, 1961 in Cape Girardeau to Joseph D. and Mary “Marty” Fulton King. She and Donald T. Way were married July 25, 1980 in Cape Girardeau.
Mary Jo was a 1979 graduate of Cape Central High School.
She had been employed in the bookkeeping department for Rose City Oil, DeStock Company, Cape Electric, and especially enjoyed her position working the counter at Honey Baked Ham.
Mary was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in Cape Girardeau. She enjoyed traveling, going to the beach, being outdoors, and helping others. She was also an avid reader, especially biographies.
Loving survivors include her husband Donald of over 40 years; her mother, Mary “Marty” King of Cape Girardeau; a sister Sheila (Rick) Pecaut of Fruitland; two aunts, Shirley King and Sue Dozier both of Jackson; a nephew “RJ” (Lori) Peel and their children Camden and Liam.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe King.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
