Melba Moore Obituary

Melba Moore, 88, of Sedgewickville passed away Saturday March 2, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 16, 1935, in Rector, Arkansas, daughter of Wayne and Mary Treva Parrish Patterson. She and Kelly Paul Jones were married on December 24, 1953. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1978.

Melba graduated from Marmaduke Arkansas High School in 1952. She worked at Florsheim Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau until January 1999 and worked at the USDA office in Jackson. She was a member of Sedgewickville Baptist Church. Melba enjoyed going to game day and playing dominos at Reagan Chapel Church and going to David Newell's house on Tuesday nights to sing. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Loving survivors include daughter Debbie (the late Kenneth) Hahs of Sedgewickville; son in law Donald "Dude" Clippard of Farmington; grandchildren Kristi (Milton) Hays, Jill Hahs (Mike Brandel), Julie Hahs all of Sedgewickville, Jared (Shelly) Clippard of Farmington, Eric (Kylee) Jones of Marquand, Kelly Jones of Perryville, Lindsey (Owen) Skolar of Maplewood, Lisa (Kyle) Pridemore and Lynda (Eric) Moreman both of Sedgewickville; and 14 great grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Kelly Paul Jones; two sons Rick and Randy Jones; daughter Patti (Jones) Clippard; three brothers Delbert, Ervin, and Billy Patterson; son in law Kenneth Hahs and great granddaughter Emma Clippard.

Visitation will be Wednesday March 6, 2024, from 4-8pm at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 7, 2024, at 1 pm, at McCombs, with the Rev. Lewis Scott, Rev. Les Bequette, and Rev. David Crites officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Sedgewickville Baptist Church.
