Naomi Ester Suzuki, 89, of Jackson earned her angle wings on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at her home with her loving husband by her side.
She was born Feb. 2, 1931 on the Leming Orchard Farm near Gordonville, the thirteenth child of sixteen children, daughter of Herbert and Freda Amelia Gerecke Quade. She and Arthur Suzuki were married August 18, 1962. He survives.
Naomi worked at the shoe factory in Cape Girardeau and Chaffee, as well as Fuller Brush, Sunbeam Corporation and Western Electric in Chicago. She was beautiful, stylish, and creative. Naomi loved to sew; making her children’s Halloween costumes, her daughters' prom dresses, dress for their wedding parties, including their own wedding dresses. She enjoyed crafts including crocheting and upholstery. Naomi traveled the United States with Arthur for over 12 years as an over the road truck driver, and YES, she drove too. Together they would visit family and friends across the country, always helping others whenever they could. She had a great sense of humor and adventure. She always encouraged everyone to work hard and follow their dreams. Naomi would not want her family and friends to be sadden as she is in a better place. If she were here today, she would say “Tell everyone that I had a good life and I will miss them until we meet again.” She will be missed immensely by her family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, from their union they had two daughters, Diana (Tom) Tyrey and Linda (Michael) Steinhilber, from Naomi’s previous marriage she had three children, Karen (Joe) O’Gara, David (Shelly) Mouser, Elizabeth Pease, all five of these children completed Naomi and Arthur’s family.
Also surviving are three siblings, twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings.
