Randel Lee Watkins

Randel Lee "Randy" Watkins Jr., 58 of Mounds, Illinois, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 24, 1962 in Riverdale, California, the son of Randel Lee and Jean McBride Watkins Sr. He and Jessie Tumbleson were married January 29, 1992.
Randy graduated from Riverdale High School in Riverdale, California. He enlisted in the United States Navy on December 4, 1984 and was honorably discharged December 3, 1987. He loved to hunt and fish. Randy was a country boy at heart, he rode and trained bulls and horses for rodeos.
He was known by his grandkids to be the best grandpa ever!
Randy was the loving husband of his wife Jessie for 29 years; other loving survivors include four children, Johnathan Pierce of Cape Girardeau, Katrina (Thomas) Murphy of Sedalia, Missouri, Sonja Pierce of Sikeston, Missouri, and Amber (Aaron Dost) Watkins of Shawneetown; nine grandchildren, Chris, Chloe, Dakota, Alice, Amelia, Cerrick, Jazmine, Connor, and Mackenzie; and two sisters, Marsha (Tim) Fisher of Hanford, California and Carolyn (Gerald) Kauffman of Fresno, California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Nicholas, and brothers, Larry Watkins, Steve Watkins, and Leslise Watkins.
A celebration of life service will announced at a later date.
