The Rev. Terry Culberson, 77, of Friedheim went to be with the Lord Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, peacefully at his home with family.
Those who knew him as pastor felt the love he showed them from a Shepherd's heart and came to know God by his profound ability to minister and teach the word.
He graduated from Central Bible college in 1968, serving many churches and religious organizations in Michigan, Arizona and Missouri as well as going to and being involved with mission efforts in Guatemala. He retired in 2010 as pastor of Covenant Life Church in Fruitland, which he and his wife founded in 1989. He continued to minister for several years following those in need.
He is survived by his wife, Jannis; youngest daughter, Angela (Jimmy) Tankersley, who had provided care; oldest son, Mark Culberson; daughter-in-law, Terri Culberson; son, William (Jamie) Wenderski; daughter, Cindy Perry; brother, Danny (Barb) Culberson; 13 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Terry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Austene and Junior Esterbrook; older brother (stillborn); younger sister, June Cote; and his oldest daughter, Carrie Neal.
Arrangements for a celebration of life service will be forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in his name to Covenant Life Church.
