Richard “Dick” Lloyd Loos, 81, of Cape Girardeau, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born December 22, 1939 in Jackson, son of William and Bertilla Marie “Tillie” Heisserer Loos. He and Margaret “Margie” Zahner were married November 5, 1977.
Dick attended Immaculate Conception school in Jackson. Since 1965 Dick was a member of Carpenters Local 1770 in Cape Girardeau. He worked in construction for Burton – Gerhardt Construction Company and for Kiefner Brothers Construction Company in Cape Girardeau. After retiring he enjoyed working on lawnmowers. He and Margie were members of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. Dick was an avid outdoorsman; he liked deer hunting, camping and boating. In their free time he and Margie enjoyed playing cards with friends.
Loving survivors include his wife Margie of nearly 44 years of marriage; four children, Kim (Charles) Keller of Jackson, Kelly Bates of St. Louis, Brenda (Mike) Broe of Atlanta, Georgia and Lisa (Lindell) Poole of Jackson; nine grandchildren, Angela, Justin and Nicholas Keller, Kaitlin and Chip Bates, Lindsay and Lexi Poole, Kelsey and Alex Broe; and two great grandchildren Asher Ide and Erika Keller.
Also surviving are seven siblings, John “Jack” Loos, George Loos, Gerald “Jerry” Loos, Sally Deevers, Carol Sue Clark and Kathleen “Kay” Crabdree.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Derick Bates, a brother, William “Bill” Loos and a son – in – law Trip Bates.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 8, 2021 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral mass will be 11:00 am on Monday, November 8, 2021 at the church with Rev. Rick Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
