Sandra Lynn Schnicker, 53, of Jackson, passed away Friday, December 27, 2019, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was born January 8, 1966, in Cape Girardeau, to Larry and Audrey (Foeste) Borgfield. She and John D. Schnicker were married September 1, 1989. One daughter, Samantha, was born to their union and she was the pride and joy of their lives.
Sandy was a 1984 graduate of Jackson High School. She graduated from SEMO in 1988 with a BSN in Nursing. She was member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Sandy was an RN, working at Southeast Hospital and Southeast Home Health, and most recently at the Career and Technology Center in Cape Girardeau. Sandy was a “taskmaster”. Her students were always pushed to excel.
Sandy was a special loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and teacher who will be missed by all. She had a special place in her heart for her family farm. She made a priority to care for everyone else first, especially her parents. Once, when Grandpa Foeste took Sandy fishing and brought her home covered in cockleburs and Grandma Foeste got mad, Sandy was nicknamed “Cockleburr”.
Loving survivors include her husband of 30 years, John Schnicker of Jackson; a daughter, Samantha (Blake) Duffy of Jackson; her parents, Larry and Audrey Borgfield of Jackson; a brother, Bradley (Tosha) Borgfield and children Ava, Grant, and Grady of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Suzanne (Steven) Hinesley of Franklin, Tennessee and Laurie Stanton of Columbia, Tennessee and their families; and her step-mother-in-law, Margaret Schnicker of Wentzville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Edwin and Esther (Kasten) Borgfield; maternal grandparents, Claude and Dorothy (Meyer) Foeste; her father-in-law, Gary Schnicker; and mother-in-law, Martha Campbell.
