Shirley Ann Kinder, 80, of Jackson, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau.
She was born July 26, 1939 in Friedheim to Albert and Bertha Ahrens Kester. Shirley married Robert M. “Bob” Kinder on May 19, 1962 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim. Bob passed away October 20, 2006.
Shirley was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim and has been a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She was a graduate of Oak Ridge High School. Shirley enjoyed growing flowers and maintaining her yard. She also enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Shirley was a volunteer and supporter of “Day 3 Day Seeds”, an organization based in Bertrand, Missouri, dedicated to solving world hunger.
Loving survivors include three children, Cynthia (Mike) Mirly of Jackson, Deborah (Bryan) McCain of Jackson, and Rodney (Vickie) Kinder of Benton, Kentucky; ten grandchildren, Tyler, Gage, Landon, and Breanna Kinder, Ryan, Ashley, and Deanna Mirly, Zachary and Megan Abernathy, and Kayla McCain; two great grandchildren, Chloe and Brynlee; a brother, Jerry Dean Kester, a nephew, Jerry (Michelle) Kester, and a special and dear friend, Clyde Kasten.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a son Timothy Kinder.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, January 22, 2020, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Joshua Schmidt officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Day 3 Seeds.
